.ASHBURTON, June 30
An unusual incident occurred at a clearing sale at Windermere yesterday, by order and authority of the Supreme Court.
The owner, D. J. Wright, addressed five hundred fanners present, urging them not to bid. The bidding for tlr* implements was very poor and only one was sold.
The manager of the auction ei 'ng firm at this stage addressed the crowd saying that if the vendor had been unfairly treated, he had his remedy at law. Wright had appealed for fair play, and he made a sinvlar appeal. After this the live stock was offered and bids were forthcoming and all were sold.
The auctioneers were subjected to snowballing and interjections from a small section of the crowd especially during the early part of the sale,
