NEW TRANSMISSION LINE. ( By Telegraph—Ter Tress Association) OAMARU, June 26. On .Sunday the Public Works Department intends switching the electric power from Lake Coleridge to the W aitaki Hydro Works over the new transmission line from Glenavy, along the north hank of the river, to the wot ks. Work has been advanced on portion of the automatic switching station at Glenavy to allow of the change over, and the power will he taken to the hydro works along a 66,000-vo-t line. It is stated that the steel-covered aluminium on the new transmission line has been condemned and will have to he replaced. Officials are reticent on the matter.

MAN COLLAPSES. CHRISTCHURCH. June 28 Francis William Richard Woodford, single, aged 50, company secretary, collapsed and died while visiting friends last evening. An inquest was opened this morning, and was adjourned till a post mortem is made.
