THE YEAR’S PROFIT.

WELLINGTON, June 29,
A cable ha s been received from London by the General Manager of the National Bank of New Zealand Limited that the net profit for the year ended thirty-first March last, after providing for bad and doubtful debts, and paying a reduced bonus to tile staff amounted to £208,286, which with £174,171 brought forward irom the previous year leaves available for distribution £382,457.
This it is proposed to allocate as fol-lows;—-In payment of a dividend at the rate of ten per cent per annum, two hundred thousand; to pension and gratuity funds fourteen thousand. The balance carried forward is £168,457.
