SHANGHAI, June 27. Tt is estimated that four hundred thousand of the inhabitants ot Hunan Province have been massacred in recent uprisings among the Communists and bandits.
This menace has prompted General Chiang Kai Shek personally to accompany a large force lor the purpose of exterminating the Communist bandits. Numerous towns have been reduced to ruins.
Official investigations disclose that torture and other atrocities have accompanied every bandit visitation.
