FATAL BLOW ON HEAD. DEATH AT HYDRO WORKS. OAMARU, June 26. At the inquest on Edgar John Jamieson, oJ Qamarii, aged twenty-two, who was found lying dead outside a hut at Waitaki Hydro on Thursday morning, the doctor, who per.ormed a postmortem examination, stated that death resulted from haemo. rliagc ol the brain resultant upon a blow on the head. Witness could not find anything to disclose the nature of the blow. A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence, the Coroner adding that' there was no evid.nce to show how deceased received the blow.
The police are making further inquiries in the matter.
FARMER SERIOUSLY INJURED. GISBORNE, June 28. At half past eleven this morning Albert Arnabildi, a middie-aged farm er, who has a wife and three children Was found near the railway at Manawhero, with a gun-shot wound in his head. It is believed that Arnabildi. was out shooting, and was about to cross the railway gate, when his gun Went off, and accidentally shot him. The victim was removed to the hospital in a very serious condition.
