44,521 REGISTERED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 26. During the week ended June 22, the unemployment registrations totalled 44,521, as compared with 44,482 for the previous sjeven days. The- number qua I died and placed in work under the No. 5 Scheme was 28,091. Under the 4A Scheme the total engaged was 4,746. There were 550 engaged under the 4B Scheme,
The- total for whom no work was found was 11,134. Probably the majority of these latter are 'ineligible. Others may not have been placed through physical disability. BRITAIN’S HUGE BILL. LONDON, June 26. In the House of Commons, Hon. Miss Rondfield (.Minister of Labour) stated that during the past ten and a halt years £602.000,000 had been paid out to the unemployed.
