In the presence of Government officials the inventor Charttrain, after 20 years research, ' demonstrated his remarkable model of an unsinkable liner eleven feet long. 'Officials were allowed to use heavy instruments to riddle the model with holes. Three men also jumped on it still .it did not sink. Chartrain claims that even if a vessel, so constructed, was cut in halves both portions would float. The Air Ministry were impressed with the possibility of applying the invention to hulls and floats of seaplanes and invited Chartrain to a conference.
