NARROW ESCAPE
■MEN IN BURNING CAR
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 25. Two men, C. Povey and B Kitchen were imprisoned in a burning sedan motor car, on a beach near Alangonui, on Wednesday night, and had a narrow escape from, deaih. The car went over a small bridge, and landed ups.ue down on the beach, in the rising tide.
The occupants were .imprisoned and one lighted a match. The benzine was leaking, And the car became a mass of flames. The men escaped through a hole in the floor, Badly burnt about the face, arms and body, and walked to the hospital. Povey's condition is serious.
