HOKITIKA BOXING CLUB

A meeting of the committee was heiu on Monday evening. Present—. Messrs l<. .McGregor luurman; J. Atkinson, R .Collett, M. .ucGavin, J. Johnston. R. Hell, U. Breeze, 1). Dowell, W. Uaylilllie. An apology was made for the absence of Messrs E .Hoonan, 1 1 . Ballinger and J. Stafford. The minutes of the previous meeting wore react and confirmed. Tlie President in his leport on the last tourney, referred co the generous s..pp.urc ,a cite public. Hie Club was gratend to Referee O'Neil, whose decisions had neeii unquestioned; to -Mr F. Bell who had brought such a hue team down; to Dr Hayes who had foregone • ugageiaents to attend; to the elloits ui its meinhcrs in keeping up an unoroken continuation of events, and finally to the Press for generous consideration. The irate takings which amounted to £3L IDs would show a credit balance siiiricient to pay the heavy outlay lor the timber, and construction of the platform.
