WONDERFUL CAMERA
LATEST FRENCH INVENTION. LONDON, June 14. “ A “slow motion" camera, which actually is a high-spied instrument, capable of from 2000 to 3200 exposures .a second, compared with 250 exposures a second with present machines, has been demonstrated, says the Paris correspondent of “The Times,'’ by its inventors, Dr Magnan and M. iHuguenard. It clearly showed the wing beats of birds and insects, notably of the blowfly, whose wing beats, 90 every second, can easily be counted. The camera consists of a set of four lenses,, 'each covering a quarter of a film band, which are opened and closed in succession by a fastclosing, revolving shutter, The inventoi* are confident of securing 10,000 exposures a second by the use of a wider film. It is expected that the camera will be valuable in studying aerodynamics and natural night and applying it to aviation.
