'lhe wicket was easy. The Counties were dismissed lor 191, Allcott and Lowry taking the last three wickets cheaply. New Zealand opened badly v Dempster and Weir were both caught in the slips. Mills and Merritt became associated in a free scoring partnership. GAINSBOROUGH, June 18. The New Zealanyl cricketers declared with 361 for 8 in the match with the Minor Counties. Merritt was dismissed after lunch. Mills carried on his score to a brilliant century. .He attacked the bowling from the start, and although he gave several chances, was always the master of the attack. He went out off the only weak shot of the innings. He batted 218 minutes for 150. He hit 17 fours. Kerr showed signs of a return to his customary enterprising batting. Lowry and Talbot both gave victorious displays.
