What is probably the first open air tourney held on the Coast is to eventuate iu the local swimming baths. A platform has been built into the empty bath giving a clear view from nil piirtn. The programme- offered, includes the usual tourney bouts, included among good nominations, are most, of the Coast Champions, The Club have shown some enterprise in stag--ing two first class, six round specinls, The first- is between' N. Harris (the “Kokatahi Kid”) and G. Gillingham of Greymouth, Both these light; weights have improved into classic boxers and fought a much discussed draw when they last met at Greymouth. It, Wright of Rimu, has is<ued a challenge to the winner. In the other bout between the two middleweights, H. Lister, Coast Champion and Tom Croft o. Stillwater, patrons are assured of a bout to be remembered. -Lister has decisions over It, Bagree tne present N.Z. Amateur Middle Champion, Gill Elery (Coast Heavy Champion), and Tommy Fairhall proclaimed him the toughest amateur he had had a work out with. Tommy Croft besides doing well locally, has the distinction of a 2-round K.O. decision over the South Canterbury champion, following it up by fighting the Otago Champion to a draw m a bout which Oamani ■ will never forget. Fans have a 'gveat 1 afternoon’s spot assured.
