BASKETBALL
PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ ASSOCIATION On Saturday the Primary -Schools' Basketball Association met at the Grey "Main School. Present: Mr Lorking (Chairman}, Miss M. berguson (Secretary) and the following members of the Committee. Miss Pedder, Miss Bell, Mrs Fane, Miss Booth, Miss Venn, Mr Lang, and'Mr Colville. Mr Lorking moved a vote of thanks to the Secretary, Miss Ferguson, for ti e very able manner in which she carried out the duties of Secretary last year.—Carried. The election of officers held over from the annual meeting owing to tiie school being not fully represented, was then held. Miss Ferguson was again elected Secretary, and Miss Pfd-
der President. It was moved and seconded that each school have two votes X for the Committee. If the school sent f only one delegate, that delegate to ~,}iave two votes. ' A vote of thanks to the retiring Prei sklent, and congratulations on his new | appointment, was then passed, members referring to the loss the sport would suffer in Mr Lorking’s transfer f from the district.
~ Mr Lorking moved and ( Miss Bell f'seconded that Miss Pedder be appoint■f ‘ed trustee in his place.—Carried'. , r The Secretary said that five teams • had entered for the B competition A : discussion arose as to the most suitable centre for the matches, Mr Lork* moved that the A grade matches be held nt Greymouth, and the B grade nt Hokitika. Miss Booth seconded the motion, which was carried.
It was resolved to hold the opening round of th'q'B grade at Hokitika on ffsaturday, June 27. .jTit was moved and seconded that the ■ competition be limited to three ■f 1 rounds.
