CHICAGO-, June 10
Five more local Danks with total deposits approximately fifteen million dollars, shut their doors to-day. Th : s brings up the total of the banks which have closed to seventeen during 1 the past week. Five other banks have amalgamated. Some of Chicago’s largest financial institutions came to the aid of other bunks, upon which .there has been steady : pressure, which lias been . continuing for several days. Well-known bankers have issued reassuring statements, expressing conscience in * the soundness of the city banks.
