BREACH OF PROMISE
UNUSUAL CASE. (By Telegraph —Per Tress Association) WELLINGTON. June 11. Alleging an agreement -to marry had been arranged by correspondence, but that defendant had refused to carry' out the obligation on her arrival from Johannesburg, Chaia Zak, a Polish girl, claimed £92 special and £75 general damages, from a draper, Rosenthal, of Wellington, for breach of promise. On her arrival it was stated, defendant told her that he had another girl. Rosenthal claims that there was no, promise to marry, but that there was to be a marriage if they both wished nftey a meeting, and he claims there was a mutual agreement not to marry.
