EVASION OF INCOME TAX. NEW! YORK, June G. News from Chicago reports that the Government, after two years secret investigation, lias secured an indictment against Al Capone, the gangster, for an evasion of payment of income tax amounting to 182,591 dollars, and other charges sufficient to send him to gaol for 32 years. Federal Treasury operatives examined a thousand persons to determine the gangster’s myriad financial affairs.
Capone surrendered to the authorities later in the day and was released on 50,000 dollars bail.
