Ernest Edward Columbus, a hawker, was found in bed with his throat cut early this morning. At the inquest today, the evidence of his wife was that lie had been ,in indifferent health for some time. He had previously threatened to commit suic do. The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide.

Robert Rainier, married, aged dfi, of 'St. .Tames Avenue, died at Christchurch Hospital last night from injuries received when he was knocked down by a. car on Saturday evening in Harewood Road.
