PLOT IN LONDON
—— — '• • —‘ • BY ITALIANS. Un 1 red Press Association— liy Eleati u telegraph.— (JopyrigAt.,l LONDON, May 27. The “Daily Express’s” Rome correspondent asserts that London is now the centre of a carefully-organised plot to assassinate Signor Mussolini, Premier of Italy. This plot is associated with the arrest of a man named Schirru, as cabled on February 4th. When cross-examined at the hospital, Schirru confessed that the three ringleaders o. the plot were living in London, and that they supplied him with plans and with money in order to kill Signor Mussolini. Members .of the. Italian Secret Service, who were sent to London, bate substantiated Schirru’s declarations that a band of Italians in’ London are working to kill the Duce at all costs. If Schirru failed to do so. the band was plotting to send an aeroplane jbo bomb Signor Mussolini in his home. A pilot had been chosen for the task, and the machine and the bombs were ready. The question is now raised whether these three leaders can be extradited.
