Considerable significance for the dairy industry is associated with the visit to Palmerston North of iTTe Dairy Board, which made an inspection of Afassey Agricultural College and later met to discuss important matters.

Professor Riddel (Director of Dairy Research Institute) welcomed the Board members, who following an inspection of the land, buildings nun general appointments of the College held a conference with the institute. To-night there will lie an important meeting of the special committee recent lv established bv the Conference of dairying interests in Wellington, to go into the problem relating to cheese manufacture.

This gsilboring has been convened for co-operation with the Dairy Prodr,co Board. The function of tie? •committee is primarily to consider importiV't aspects ol cheese quality, including maturity, to formulate suggestions and submit recommendations regarding these for consideration at the forthcoming meeting of the National Dairy Association,
