A LARGE RAT

ATTACKS AN INFANT. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 27. An infant while left lying in the sun was attacked by a large rat. The mother attracted by terrified screaming found the rat lying; on' the child’s chest gnawing at the flesh, under the jaw. The brute at once took flight. Fortunately the mother’s intervention came soon enough to prevent any permanent injury.
