The Loan Council’s committee reported that it had not had enough time to consider tho expert’s recommendations sufficiently. It had agreed, however, on the. necessity for ,a. twenty per cent, reduction, of all.. Government expenditure ; compared with 1929-80. It thought ~.the conversion. of Australia’s internal indebtedness at-a reduced rate of interest would them be possible.
