The British Empire is proving it possesses a genius for responding to the needs of changing times, indicating how, without sacrifice of pride or freedom of independent nationhood, it is possible to live and work together as members of a world organisation, said Mr Ramsay MacDonald in an Empire Daly broadcast from Lossiemouth. It is thereby demonstrating to the world, how solutions can he found to some pressing problems, including the necessity for the realisation to frame a frank, trustful mutual reply, wherein ■countries must not fail, owing to the over increasing capacity for destruction. He referred to the historic imperial Round Table Conference over which he had presided, and added that regarding India the clock could not go back or pause, The Empire’s expansion must have more and more expansion of consitutional . libeitj, finding new forms of expression.
