The Plunkct Half in the Soldiers’ Hall last night drew a large attendance in spite of the very heavy rain that fell (v irieg the early eveifng. The hall was a very bright pi rure looking very gay with dainty decorations that included a large number ol Chinese lantern,-; lit up with electric bulbs, and with coloured lights. The iloor was in it s usual perfect order, and thi- .Melody Orchestra supplied a capital musical programme, assisted with extras on the Parryphone. Yesterday a representative of the manufacturers of Laykold gave a Demonstration of the preparation on trio street in the presence of the Mayor (Mr Perry) and Councillors.
