CONFIDENCE TRICK
ANOTHER TAKE DOWN. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] (Received 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, May 19. Gazing in an antique dealer’s window, a New Zealand farmer, William M cNaugbt Cavan and his wife were charmed by a well dressed stranger’s interest and offer to guide them sightseeing next day, when the inevitable passerby dropped a. rosary, which led to the old story that lie was arranging to charitably distribute bis uncles legacy of eighty thousand.
Cavan handed over a wallet containing £1.60, as a proof of his bonafides to act as distributor in New Zealand. He and his wife vainly waited for an hour in a restaurant for the confidence mail’s return.
