The fire hell at No. 1 station rang out a short alarm of fire on Saturday night at 10 o’clock. The cause of the alarm was the discover}’ of the blazing of a kerosene saturated sack under the back portion of Messrs Park and Aluidoch’s office at the corner of Hamilton and Tancred Streets. Luckily the flames were seen by two passers-by in the vicinity and while one went and rang the bell the other entered the backyard and pulled the flaming sack from under the building. A bottle that had contained kerosene was found in close proximity. No damage was done to the building. It was a pure case of incendiarism, which luckily was discovered in its early stage.
