ROBBERIES ON INCREASE. (Australian Press Association.) (Received this day at 1.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 15. The annual report of the Police Department shewed a net decrease of 7901 in the total number of offences during the year 1930, compared with 1929. This decrease, however, is accounted for by the heavy falling off in, minor offences, There was a large increase of serious offences. A striking feature jn regard to crime in New Soutli Wales has been the number of robberies or attempted robberies of banks, commercial houses and private citizens by armed offenders.
