HAWERA MURDER
AN ARREST MADE. (By Telegraph-—Per Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 12. Charged with the murder of N a na Chhuba, an Indian fruiterer, at Hawera oil January 31st, Walter Tinsley was arrested at Masterton to-day by Senior Detective Quirke and Detective Meiklejolm, of. New Plymouth, who have been making ; investigations continuously since the murder.
So far-as, the public are concerned the murder has been a complete mystery during the intervening months. Chhuba was found lying in his shop with his head terribly battered, lie apparently having been struck down from behind. MURDER CHARGE. MASTER'D)N. May 13. Walter John. Tinsley, aged v -25, who was arrested in Masterton last night, appealed at the Magistrate's Court this morning charged with the murder «nf Nana Clihiba, the Indian fruiterer at Hawera between 11 p.m. on January 31st 1931 and 11 p.m. on February Ist. 1931. On the application of Senior Detective Quirke of New Ply--1 mouth, accused was remanded to appear at New Plymouth on May 20th.
