LATE LOCALS.
All vice lias been received that Miss Rita Morgan of this town,, who •is competing at the Christchurch Competitions, was recalled last evening in the mezzo test solo. This was her first appearance, and the young lady is to he congratulated oil her success in the wider field she is competing in. The funeral of the lato Mr William F. .Jones of Koiterangi took place to Hokitika cemetery this afternoon. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church at 9 o’clock, and the cortege left the 'Church shortly after 1.80 p.ni. There was a very large assemblage of mourners present, the whole district being represented, while the Rokatahi-Koiteraiigi Valley residents were greatly in evidence. There were many mourners on foot and a very long string of motor ears. The Rev. Father McKay conducted the services at the Church and the graveside. Many floral tributes were received from sorrowing friends, from all parts of the district.
