THOMAS OUTPOINTS DONOVAN. (Jig Telegraph—Per Press Association', WELLINGTON, May n. Joey Thomas, of Chicago, outpointed Tommy Donovan in their fifteen round contest, which was boxed before a small house to-night. Donovan weighed 9st. 3lbs. and the American 9st. lib. Thomas owed hi.s victory to meeting Donovan’s rushes with terrific 'right smashes to the heart.
JOHNS BEATS N.S.W. CHAMPIOiv. AUCKLAND. May U. A professional lightweight boxing contest took place to-night between Harry Johns (Auckland! and Archie Hughes (fealierweiglit champion of New South Wales). The fight was very even, Johns winning on points.
