CRIMES INCREASE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph' -Copyright.) LONDON, May U. “The Times’s” Madrid correspondent states: There lia§ been an unusual series of crimes during the .past week. These corroborate the signs ‘ol inoreaa ing lawlessness in Spain. 'Two men, in Asturias, held up a train. They then shot the Civil Guard and robbed a bank cashier who was carrying miners’ wages. There have been armed robberies in Bilba, and in Saragossa. The peasant at another place waylaid a Priest after Mass, at a lonely hermitage and they hacked him to pieces. The Bishop of Leon lias received many complaints of disrespect being shown towards the cloth. j hose crimes have been accompanied by the discovery of stores ol firearms and bombs and have caused a seini-panie on the Stock Exchange. Government stocks are falling ,and are at their lowest point in the present centurv.
