-MAN STEALING BOOKS. AUCKLAND, May 1. The theft of three books, valued at 4s, belonging to Hugh Lynn, was admitted by Alexander Rea, aged 31, a waterside worker, when he appeared at tile Police Court to-day. Detective Sergeant Kelly said Constable Prestage, at 3 o’clock on Friday afternoon, saw Rea take the books from the front of a shop in Karangaliape Road. He then walked into a hotel.
