NATIVE FLORA
LORD BLEDISLOE’S AMBITION. WELLINGTON, April 24. Speaking at the opening of the flower show at the Town Hall yesterday, his Excellency the Governor-General. Lord Bledisloe, expressed his desire to see a greater love and cultivation oi the beautiful native flowers and shrubs. New Zealand had the finest native hush in the world, hut few people knew as much as they should ahoul the botany of their native bush, and few made the best use of them in the confines of their own gardens. It was bis ambition, before be left New Zealand, to see a greater love and admiration developed for the plants of the native bush than existed when lie first arrived in the Dominion, said bis Excellency.
