Woods, GO, a single ole) .age •ponAone.r employed as a cowman,...wild H.,Paterson 14, the youngest of a family of five, the mother being a widow. Both are of Hanmer. Woods bought the ticket from Paterson and promised to share it with him equally, if lie won.
BRUTAL ASSAULT,
WESTPORT. April 24
Brutally assuaited by her son, Arthur Roberts, Mrs May Roberts aged 7S, is now dangerously ill in the hospital. It is alleged Roberts attacked his mother this morning, hashing her head on the floor and striking her with clenched fist. Her condition is reported serious. Roberts has been arrest:-
