EXCITEMENT IN COUNTRY

SYDNEY, April 23
The suspension of payment by the Government Savings Rank caused considerable excitement in the country centres, where the bank’s- business Iras been very large. The -Mayor of Deniliquin has convened a meeting of the citizens with the object of requesting the Government to take all constitutional means of dissolving Parliament. BANK ENQUIRIES. (Received 10.45 a.nt.) SYDNEY, April 24. Officials of the Commonwealth' Savings Bank began an investigation into the affairs of the Government .SavingsBank in order that the proposed legislation dealing with absorption can r„e facilitated. The president of the Bank, Air Hill, said the investigation would take time but it was probable tin arrangement would be made early next week f o :olieve necessitious cases amongst the State bank depositors.
