CONTEMPT OF COURT
PKFKNDANT SI'.NT TO GAOL. INVKRCAR OLL. April 22. A defended police ease in the Magistral ’s Court this morning came to a sensational halt when, consequent upon defendant refusing to answer a question, Mr IC. 0. Levvey, S.M., sentenced him to three days’ imprisonment for contempt of court. Detend-nt, was John Taylor, a labourer, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of keeping liquor lor sale in the no license district of Invercargill. He refused to disclose th- names of companions with whom he said liquor was dnmk on a vacant section out ide the no license area.
