UPROARIOUS SCENES
SYDNEY UNIVERSITY UNION. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 10.4-5 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 22. There were uproarious scenes at the Sydney University Union when a meeting was held for the purpose of inaugurating a Labour group among undergraduates. Speeches were interrupted by catcalls, bawls, hooting, and stamping of feet, and scores of undergraduates were forced to leave the hall because of tear gas which was scattered by some of those present. The chief secretary, Mr Gosling, was frequently interrupted for periods of several minutes. The meeting was definitely antiLabour, mention of Lang’s name bringing forth prolonged hooting and boohooing,
