MURDERER’S ACT
AFTER KILLING WOMAN. (Australian Press Association:) SYDNEY. April 21. On being to-day sentenced to death for murdering a married woman, Airs Julia Hughes, on Alarch 4th, John Fade coal miner at Ccssnork. near Newcastle, told- tin Court that In* Ib'd had a .dispute with All's Hughes, whom he loved. H t > said he hit her on the liend with an axe. Then lie cut off his own hand, with the ob'-ect of bleeding to death, hut he recovered. The jury recommended him to mercy.
