Sir James Jeans, the distinguished British astronomer, will leave England to-morrow 'for the United States, where next month he will be pn-sented with tlm Frank tin Medal for research into physical science, one of the highest honours open to scientists of the world. Sir James Jeans has been lecturer in mathematics at a number of unversities and for ten years has been secretary of the Royal Society.
