ADRIFT ON ICE

The floating cannery Genzanmani wirelessed that sixteen were caught in the icepack off Kamchatka. Our drinking water is nearly finished. On the 19tli they wirelessed again— The ice has carried northwards and there is intense cold. Anxiety is felt for the fate of six hundred of the crew, who are practically unrescueable.
