The British Consul-General in the Tangier zone, Mr Hugh Gurney, is reported to have appealed to the Foreign Office for protection, os it is feared that the unrest in the zone may incite the Riff tribesmen to swarm over the frontiers. The “Daily Mail’s” Gibraltar correspondent says that a company of the Lincolnshires are standing by, and arc ready to proceed to Tangier to protect the Consulate.
