An accident occurred at the State Mine vesterday morning at 9.45, as the result ol which a miner. George Graham Connors, was admitted to the Grey Hospital. O’Brien, M.P., has received the following letter from the Minister of Public Works in reply to a deputation which waited on him urging the Kumnra Junction-Flowery Creek road l,e completed:—-“Dear Sir: You will remember that some time -ago you introduced a deputation consisting of the Mayor of Greymouth and representatives of the Greymouth Chamber of Commerce and Christchurch Automobile Association, in regard to the comnletion of the coastal road between Kumara Junction and Flowery Creek. I have now to advise that lull particulars in connection with the proposal were recently submitted to- Cabinet, but after fnllv considering the position it was decided that for the present at any rate the Government could not see its' wav to take any action in the matter.—Yours faithfully, W.
