As the result oj' a meeting between a deputation of th 0 unemployed and the Hospital Board this atternoon. it was decided to grant immediate relief to 30 necessititous cases. The City Council will further consider the position to-morrow night, and the Hospital Board will take steps at its meeting on Thursday to se ( . what can he done to rdieve the position. Air P. H. Petrie was the chief speaker on behalf of the unemployed. He said he represented 3.000 people, not including their wives and dependents. He also remarked that tDo men would he far better in gaol, because they had been assured by the Relief Officer of the Hospital Board that fbe Board's chief work was affording relief to the wives and dependents ot these men who had hepn sentenced to imprisonment.
