Petrie was the chief speaker on behalf of the unemployed. He said he represented 3.000 people, not including their wives and dependents. He also remarked that tDo men would he far better in gaol, because they had been assured by the Relief Officer of the Hospital Board that fbe Board's chief work was affording relief to the wives and dependents ot these men who had hepn sentenced to imprisonment.
