THE LABOUR CANDIDATE. (Australian Press Association) (Received 10.45 a.m.) SYDNEY. April 15. By 23 to 1 votes the Australian Labour Party executive reseleetrd Stuni't11ohertson as Labour candidate for Annaiidale by-eb'cl ion. The secretary informed the Executive that Council's opinion was Hint there was no legal bar t" the re-election of Stuart-Robertson, Tile Speaker of the Assembly. Mr Burke, said in fixing the date lor Annandiile by-election. he did not lose sight of the fact that it was Auzno Day, and following representations from the Returned Soldiers secretary, bo endeavoured to have the date altered. d’li Crown Law Department held, however, that the speaker bad no pow. er. after issuing the original writ, to issue a second one.
