TIMARU WOOL SALE

VERY SATISFACTORY AUCTION. (.By Telegraph — l’erFress Association) TIMARU, April 13. The bench of buyers, fully representative of the wool consuming countries of the world as well as the Dominion buying points, operated this morning at the third and final sale of the season. The auction, which camprised a catalogue of 11,500 bales, was very satisfactory. Prices lor the better style of wools showed an advance on the recent Dunedin sale, while ordinary top making sorts sold at par with Dunedin, inferior wools being a shade easier. Bellies and prices, as a result of exceptionally keen French competition, were very firm .and according to the President of the South Canterbury Wool Brokers Association (Mr C. E. Shallcrass), Lucre has not been a better sale anywhere in the Dominion this year for this particular class of wool. Taken all round the market was very firm, the sale representing an increase of 3d a pound on the prices wmch ruled at the February auction in Timaru. The top price for the sale was obtained by 10 bales of Kimbryan super half bred ewes wool, which was sold at llfd oil behalf of the estate of the late Mr John Mcßae of Waimate. The best price' fop Corl'iedale wool wns realised by 18 bales sold at K)[d on account of Gorman Brothers of Hakataramia, Four bales of super merino on ac. count of Mr D. Stewart, of Albury, fetched l(H-d Top prices for three-quarter bred and crossbred were 9id and 9cl respectively.
