Following the receipt ot despatches staling that the/London stock market had experienced considerable buoyancy due to a report jlint Rt. lion Mr Norman (Governor of the Rank ol Mugland) “had made a strong plea t* President Hoover mid Mr Mellon (U.K. Secretary) seeking a change in their attitude to-wards debts and reparations.’’ an inquiry here indicated that this rumour was without Inundation, presumably as authoritative circles flatly declared that Mr Norman has made no plea relative to the debt .situal ion.
