Argentina favours a consortium of Canada ; United States, Australia ami Argentina, to regulate wheat offerings on the world market. This was disclosed in a letter from Beckar Valera, Argentine .Minister of Commerce, communicated to the vrniiadian 'Trade Goodwill Mission, by Senator C. Beaubien, Chairman' of the Commission’s Tariff Committee. 'The letter was read at a meeting ol the Mission on board the steamer Prime Rupert on Tuesday and was made public on Thursday. 'The letter proposes .that- each of the lour countries should appoint a l-rprc-sentative to a special commission, charged with determining the sale quota for each participant, based on production, lor exportation, effecting sales and distributing proceeds. WINTER WHEAT. WASHINGTON, April 9. Winter wheat production as indicated by tlie condition of the crop on April Ist. was estimated by the Department of Agriculture on Thursday at 644.OuO.OOO bushels compared with 604.000.000 bushels, the average for tlie last five rears.
