A SUCCESSFUL DAY. The Ross Sports Club Imd beautiful weather yesterday lor their meeting, which was well attended. The cliiel interest centred in tli<. axemen’s events. The popular “pick” T. Cron, won the big (underhand) chop, but J. Gugieh ran him close in the final. W.Bannister, who was third, won the upright elmp, while the maiden chop was won by C. Glass. L. Alartyn. (Hokitika) won tile Sheffield footrace. Mrs Seelieck was again to the fore in tinladies race.
