CAUGHT ARMED
WHEN ATTEMPTING BURGLARY. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, March 27. “The public are entitled to protection from this type of scoundrel. No leniency can lie extended to a youth who commits such a crime,” said Magistrate Mosley, in dealing with the elder of two youths aged 16 and 15 years, who admitted breaking into a city factory. They were epuipped with masks, gloves, a jemmy, and a loaded revolver, hut were caught by the manager. The police said they believed the boys intended using the revolver if necessary. The eldest was committed to Urn Borstal for three years, and the youngest was. placed under the- supervision of the Child Welfare Department.
