VIEWS OF DIFFERING SIDES.
(Australian Press Association.)
(Received this d.iv at 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 28. , The press was excluded from the Federal Labour Conference., An official statement indicated that President Kenneallv, in opening the proceedings, declared the New South Wales State party’s revolt threatened the existence of the Labour Party throughout Australia. He forecasted a new party would he the outcome in this State. Mr Scullin attacked the State A.L.P. for its attitude towards Air Theodore, whom lie warmly defended. All delegates condemned the Lang Plan. Air Graves, State President, subso([uently stated he was unperturbed at the Conference’s expulsion motion. “AVe take our instructions from the rank and file of the Labour movement. Every A.L.P. branch and union endorsed the Lang Plan.” Other members of the State Executive ridiculed the Federal Conference delegates pretensions. They were actually political defendants, who had now assembled to pass judgment’ on themselves. The Federal Party’s only course was now to set up a hew organisation in New South Wales, which would be costly and difficult in the face of the hostility of a majority of the Unions.
