BANK OF AUSTRALASIA
[United Press Association.—By Electric
Telegraph.—Copyright. 1 (Received this day at 1.0 p.m.) LONDON, March 26. Mr Gilliat presiding at the Bank ol Au-straliasiu meeting, said the. Bank while It will not assist any financial schemes which it believes detrimental to Australia, was prepared to do its utmost in conjunction ' with other .trading bunks to help Australia, to got her house in order, Tim general outlook in Australia was somewhat blighter, as evidence the increased resistance to proposals based on evasions of the country’s commitments, but there was a long road to travel before the goal was reached, namely the return to conservative expenditure on tinpart of the States. There recently has been a groat deal of press correspondence upon Australia’s position and in many cases there i,s a certain amount of iusideous propaganda- in the matter of her national honour, but Australia’s troubles should be regarded as world wide depression and her position will improve with the rest of the world. Adverse criticism should not seek outone country for special comment.
